Regarding “Ocean study sounds another alarm on global warming” (May 18), it is ironic how we are always told that “a new study shows global warming is worse than previously thought,” yet even global warming alarmists continually lower their predictions of future temperature rise.

The United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change now predicts merely 2.0 to 2.5 degrees Celsius of twenty-first century warming in its mid-range scenarios, down from predictions of 3.0 degrees Celsius just six years ago. The UN also predicts 13 inches of twenty-first century sea level rise, down from 15 inches six years ago. Perhaps more importantly, the UN’s “worst case” scenarios for total temperature rise and total sea level rise are down approximately 20 percent each since 2001.

These ever-improving projections have occurred despite the constant claims by global warming alarmists that “new evidence shows global warming will be worse than previously thought.”
