Department of Energy Cancels Funding for Texas Clean Energy Project

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has decided to cease funding the Texas Clean Energy Project (TCEP), one of six clean-coal-energy projects promised under DOE’s Clean Coal Power Initiative (CCPI). Under a rule proposed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), renewable-energy companies will be able to obtain permits over the next 30 years authorizing protected eagles to be killed or captured.
