How Would You Respond?
Opinion poll results are often largely determined by how the survey questions are worded. If a pollster asks, Do you think the government should help people in need? the poll will get a different answer than if the pollster asks, Do you think your tax dollars should be used to feed people at public expense? Here is how questions regarding school choice were asked by International Communications Research, Phi Delta Kappa, and the National Education Association.
How much do you support providing parents with the option of sending their children to the school of their choice-either public, private, or parochial-rather than only to the school to which they are assigned? International Communications Research
Do you favor or oppose allowing students and parents to choose a private school to attend at public expense? Phi Delta Kappa
Do you think that tax dollars should be used to assist parents who send their children to private schools, or should tax dollars be spent to improve public schools? National Education Association
