An Australian court has ruled that a motel discriminated against a prostitute when the owner refused to rent her a room where she wanted to work.
The “sex worker”--known only as GK--had rented a room 17 times over a two-year period but was banned when the motel owners learned she was bringing “clients” with her.
She is claiming $30,000 in damages. Her lawyer argued her use of the bed for business was no different than other business travelers who use the motel’s telephone or Internet connections.
