Dr. Tyler Cowen: Marginal Revolution University Online
October 26, 2012
More universities are herding into massive open online courses, or MOOCs. Just this week, the University of Texas, announced it would, joining the likes of Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the University of Virginia. Drs. Tyler Cowen and Alex Tabarrok are economics professors at George Mason University and proprietors of the well-known economics blog Marginal Revolution. They’ve just ventured into the same territory by opening Marginal Revolution University—free, and online. Dr. Cowen joins the podcast to discuss the venture: what it offers, why, and what sets it apart from other online providers. It's another way to spread economics education to the world, he says.
