A Louisiana woman has the constitutional right to hang Christmas lights on her house in a pattern giving her neighbors the middle finger.
She had been in the midst of an argument with the neighbors when she hung the lights last month. The neighbors called the police, who threatened to arrest her for violating the local obscenities ordinance. But she brought suit with the help of the American Civil Liberties Union and won, in part because the city doesn’t have an obscenities ordinance.
